On Saturday, Nov. 8, the revolution began. It was not a revolt with guns or bombs but a revolt on how big business is attempting to control our lives. It is just the beginning. It is when the average American can work to support his or her family and know that their children will be able to see a doctor and get the medical help they need without losing their home. It is where we can say to our government, "We are tired of you listening to the lobbyists or the major corporations. It's time you started to listen to me, the average American." But we cannot sit back from this one small victory. We must keep the pressure on the government. We must constantly remind them that they work for the people, not Blue Cross. Please call your senator and remind him that in order to make your life better, you need to guarantee your children's health and a future for them. This will also ensure the senator's job -- that is, if he cares about it. Philip T. Cox Atwater Comments
