Adalyn Marie Stephens, 88, of Ravenna, passed away after a short illness with family at her side on November 13, 2009. She was born on August 18, 1921 in Hutchinson, Kansas and was the only child of Isa (Leslie) and Andrew Miller. Adalyn and Bill M. Stephens were married on May 7, 1941 in Columbus, Kansas. Throughout her years, Adalyn touched many lives with her loving nature. While Bill served in the military and continued his studies, Adalyn taught school in Kansas. She was also an active leader and member of such organizations as Sorosis Club, Methodist Church Mary Reed Circle, Bridge Club, Girl Scouts, Womens Club, Oak Branch Garden Club, and the Red Hot Steppers. Adalyn is survived by her beloved husband Bill; daughter Sylvia Klas (Peter) of Wabasha, MN; son Craig Stephens (Ruth) of Randolph; daughter Pam Valentine of Kent; and 7 grandchildren, Paul Klas, Justin and Samantha Stephens, Matthew and Robert Valentine and Christopher and Andrew Stephens; and 1 great grandson, Carter Valentine. Adalyn was preceded in death by her parents, son Chuck Stephens and grandson Peter Klas. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, November 16, 2009, at 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church of Kent, with Reverend Douglas Denton officiating.
