w" George Kuyon, 94 of Ravenna passed away Friday November 13, 2009 at the Loyalton of Ravenna. He was born November 11, 1915 in Nick Branch, WVA to the late George and Mary (Kish) Kuyon. Mr. Kuyon has lived in Ravenna the past 69 years and was formerly of Aurora. He retired from BF Goodrich in Akron where he worked as a fork lift operator. He was a member of the Hungarian Lodge in Cleveland and was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 1055 in Ravenna. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during WW II where he received a Purple Heart in the Battle of the Bulge. Survivors include his wife Mary (Maydak) Kuyon whom he married September 29, 1940, sons George M. (Joan) Kuyon of Geneseo, NY, Bill (Virginia) Kuyon of Atwater, Ohio, grandchildren Autumn (Mark), Trent, Scott (Emily), great grandchildren Kylyn, Corbin, Ethan, sisters Mary Kovalyn of Streetsboro and Helen Simon of Bowling Green, Ohio. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Michelle Marie, brothers John, Joe, Steve, Frank, Louie and sister Dorothy Zugan. Calling hours will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Monday 16, 2009 at Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel where funeral services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday November 17, 2009 with Fr. Nicholas Wyslutsky officiating. Burial will follow in Homeland Cemetery Rootstown, Ohio. The family requests In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Robinson Memorial Hospice and Visiting Nurse.
