Buford Nelson

Buford Nelson, 74, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 14, 2010 with his family by his side. Buford was born in Lucasville, Ohio, the son of the late John and Carrie Campbell Nelson. He grew up in Lucasville and moved to Paris Twp. in 1978. On September 17, 1955 he married his sweetheart Wilma Silcott. He was a heavy equipment operator and retired from the City of Ravenna January 1, 2001. Buford played guitar and sang gospel music with his wife and John Dunbar for the past 40 years as the Singing Nelsons.He was a member of the Lake Milton Baptist Temple. Buford is survived by his wife Wilma Nelson of Paris Twp., his daughter and son-in-law Kara and Ian Suzelis of Paris Twp., son and daughter-in-law Terrence and Margaret Nelson of Hartford Mi., son Derrick Nelson of Freedom Twp., Ohio, son and daughter-in-law David and Jamie Nelson of Akron, Ohio. Brother Richard Nelson and brother and sister-in-law Art and Carolyn Nelson of Lucasville, Ohio. grandaughters Abagail Moore, Suzanna Nelson and Ina Suzelis, grandson Koen Suzelis and great grandson Uriah Moore. Mr Nelson was preceeded in death by four sisters and six brothers. Calling hours will be at the Lake Milton Baptist Temple 415 South ST RT 534 Diamond Oh 44412 on Tuesday from 5 to 8PM. where Funeral services will be Wednesday March 17th 2010 at 10:30AM. Burial will be in Hawley Cemetery. Arrangments have been entrusted to the James Funeral Home, 8 East Broad Street, Newton Falls, Ohio 44444, (330) 872-5440 (R-C 3-15-10)
