Willie Lippy Lee Watts She was born December 26, 1925, to Upshaw and Ossie Wood Head in Kent, Ohio. Preceding her in death were her parents and her older sister Anna Kinds Thomas. She graduated from Kent Roosevelt High School in 1944. She attended Kent State University where she met Clarence, her husband of 59 years. She retired from L.E. Myers in 1987. She was a member of Union Baptist Church in Kent, where she served as the church secretary, treasurer of the church mission, and sang in the choir. She also served on the trustee board until she fell ill. She was a member of the American Legions Womens Auxiliary. She was a founding member of the Womens Social Club in Kent. She also, along with her cousin Versie Smith and two sisters Anna and Lois, helped to start the Head Family Reunion and served as its President for many years before resigning in 2000. She was an avid bowler and volunteered her time, often to help others. She was a devoted wife to Clarence and a loving mother to their three children, Eric (Sarah), Vicki (Anthony) Broaddus of Kent and Clayton (Henrietta) of Colton, California. She also leaves her sisters: Lois Little, Gladys (Charles) Watts and brother Frank (Hedy) Head, nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, May 10th at Newman Center with Rev. Dr. W. C. Watts officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent. (RC 5/7 & 8/08)
