Richard A. Fortin, 85, of Kent, died Saturday, July 12, 2008 at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna surrounded by his family. He was born May 20, 1923, in Malletts Bay, Vermont, to Albany and Arcilla (Bosley) Fortin. He was employed by Christenson Construction Company. He was a member of St. Patrick Church, Knights of Columbus Council #1411, and Labors Union 894. He is survived by sons, Joseph R. Fortin of Kent, Richard G. (Barbara) Fortin of Stow and Timothy J. (Joyce) Fortin of Stow; daughters, Susan (Joseph) Yackmack of Mantua and Julianne Fortin of Kent, grandchildren, Richard (Jennifer) Fortin Jr., Tiffany Fortin (fianc, Joe Pirri), Matthew Fortin, Nicholas Fortin, Benjamin Fortin, Nathaniel Fortin, Amanda Yackmack, Patrick Yackmack and Chris Spencer; sister, Marian (Frederick) Griffiths, South Burlington, Vermont; brother-in-law, George OBrien of Salamanca, New York; sister-in-law, Rosemary Bush of Kent; and many nieces and nephews.. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie M. (OBrien) Fortin in 1986 and his sister-in-law, Ann OBrien. Calling hours will be held 5-8 P.M. Tuesday, July 15th at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, July 16th at St. Patrick Church. Burial will be in Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent.
