EDINBURG - The campaign trail wound through Portage County today as presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama stopped at Stahl's Farm Market on S.R. 14 just after 1 p.m. today on his way from a rally in Austintown to a rally at Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea.
The Obama convoy rolled up, surprising a handful of shoppers. The presumptive Democratic nominee, flanked by U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown and Gov. Ted Strickland, stopped to shake hands with customers and bought peaches from the market.
Obama chatted with Portage County Municipal Court Judge John Plough, who stopped by, as well as several local women who happened to be at the market on their way back from horseback riding at West Branch State Park.
