Alverda B. Stratton, 80, of Windham, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2008 surrounded by her loving family, at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna. She was born November 8, 1927 in Georgetown, Ohio to the late, James M. and Maude R. (Williams) Sowers. Alverda was a homemaker and a member of Windham Church of the Nazarene. She used to memorize license plates as a hobby and like to work word and picture puzzles. Alverda is survived by her sons, Ronald of Windham and Lew (Nancy) of Newton Falls; daughters, Ramona (Tom) Thornton of Windham, Ada Marie (Jeff) Higgins of Florida and Michelle (Don) Armour of Leavitts burg; 17 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. As Alverda leaves, her 22nd great-grandchild will be born today, and the circle of life remains unbroken. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred; son, Carroll; brother, Carl; and sisters, Edith, Pauline and Mary.
