Goldie S. Montz, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, Monday, August 18, 2008. A life resident of Barberton/Clinton, she was an active member and past president of Canal Fulton VFW #9795 Ladies Auxiliary. Goldie was a former member of Barberton Elks Emblem Club and attended St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church. Preceded in death by her husband, Richard A. Montz; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Minnie and August S. Montz; sister-in-law, Viola Spaniol; Goldie is survived by her children, Steve (Ruth) Montz, Peggy Carr, Terry (Pete) Doney, Rick Montz, Larry Montz, Fred Montz, Joni (Robbie) Robinson, Eric (Andrea) Montz; 20 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Joseph Spaniol; numerous nieces and nephews and longtime neighbor and friend, Mary Gilcher. Mass of the Christian Burial will be Saturday 10 a.m. at St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church, 4019 Manchester Road, Akron 44319, Fr. David Bline, celebrant and Fr. William E. Browne, co-celebrant. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation Friday 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Avenue, Barberton 44203.
