Thank you to voters on behalf of the Mental Health & Recovery Board of Portage County for the decisive passage of Issue 36, the renewal of a 0.5-mill levy for mental health and substance abuse treatment. Funds from Issue 36 provide counseling, emergency services, substance abuse and suicide prevention education, services to victims of abuse and care for our veterans and their families.
Despite the anxiety of the current economic situation, Portage County voters chose to maintain services; concerned that mental health and recovery services are needed now more than ever.
The board is grateful for the vote of confidence and will continue to be fiscally responsible through day-to-day monitoring of expenses and by following an on-going long-range financial plan during these uncertain times.
Your support means there is help for more than 6,500 youth and adults who live in Portage County neighborhoods, attend community churches and schools and work in local businesses.
