As a parent who had one child graduated from and one child still attending Field Schools, I amd both disappointed and angry with the district.
I have been a supporter of the teachers for many years, and will continue to be, and it angers me to see the administration bully the teachers the way they are currently. This district is top heavy administratively yet they cry poor. The athletic programs get full support yet the arts are deemed "not necessary".
They close Central Elementary under the disguise of saving money and turn around and work to reopen it as something else. I know they have a state grant for part of that, but when that money runs out, what next? This school is so unnecessary so as to be ridiculous.
This is typical; and this wrecking crew knows it. That is why until the current superintendent is no longer a part of the district, and the administration is changed, I will never again vote for a Field School levy. You've had my vote every levy election, but no more.
I am not a fan of unions, but the Field teachers deserve better. They deserve more money and more importantly respect. They have mine.
The administration - well that's another story.
