The Portage County TEA Party committee is taking reservations for an emergency bus trip to Washington, D.C. which departs on Thursday. The trip is an effort to stop the passage of the bills in the U.S. House and Senate that committee members say would result in a government takeover of the United States health care system.
Those who want to take the trip can do so by calling the offices of the Portage County TEA Party committee at 330-474-3878 and leaving their name, phone number and the number of seats they would like on the bus. They can also send an e-mail to Info@PortageCountyTEAParty.com.
Cost of the trip is $50 per person, round trip. The buses will leave early Thursday morning and return by Thursday night. Final details will be provided via a return phone call by a committee member.
The TEA Party movement, which stands for Taxed Enough Already, seeks to motivate citizens to take a more active role in electing representatives that are more committed to fiscal responsibility.
