Frances M. Bailey, age 86, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2009, surrounded by her family after a long illness. She was born in Akron in 1923, lived in the Randolph area most of her life. Frances attended Garfield High School and was a corpsman with the United States Navy Waves during WWII. She was in charge of the cafeteria at Waterloo Schools for many years, was an assistant treasurer with the Randolph Fair Board for 35 years where she enjoyed all the friends she made as well as the shared activities. Frances enjoyed gardening, cooking knitting and crocheting. It was a family tradition that each child, grandchild and great grandchild be made a special sweater as a baby with Lovers Knots. She often made sweater sets for friends and their babies. Preceded in death by her parents, Franklin and Mary Virgie Fields; and brother, Fred Berish; she is survived by her husband of 66 years, James; children, Michele Acord of Mogadore, James (Katherine) Bailey of Northbridge, MA., Denise (Michael) Wise of Leesburg, GA., Debra Townsend of Orlando, FL., William Bailey of Magnolia, TX., and Melissa Robledo of Rancho Cordova, CA.; 15 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; cousins, Jerry (Maggie) Heater, and Juanita (Frank) Englehart; sister-in- law, Margaret Bender; two nieces; one nephew; and many wonderful, caring friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday 11:00 a.m. at Hopkins Lawver MOGADORE Funeral Home, 34 S. Cleveland Avenue, with Fr. James Lang officiating. Burial at Hillside Cemetery in Randolph.
