I'm voting Democrat because I believe that the best strategy in war is defeat. It broadens the mind to learn Japanese, German and Arabic. Talk about multiculturalism!
I'm voting Democrat because I'm mad that George W. Bush hasn't caught Bin Laden. That's because Bin Laden is the only Islamic terrorist in the world.
I'm voting Democrat because I believe that if I don't have enough money, the solution is for the government to take more of my money. Who needs money when gas is $5 per gallon?
I'm voting Democrat because I believe that the ideal family is two homosexual bonobos, a goat and a parrot raising a human baby. Love and compassion is all it takes to make a successful family!
I'm voting Democrat because it's my body, and if I want to kill my baby, I'll do it, even if its head is in the birth canal. If I want to cut out my intestines and feed them to the crocodiles, I'll do that too. That's the freedom our forefathers enshrined in the Constitution.
I'm voting Democrat because our enemies on the battlefield deserve comfy hotel rooms, Pay-Per-View, prostitutes and all the benefits of American citizenship.
I'm voting Democrat because I believe we need other countries' permission for me to turn down my thermostat.
I'm voting Democrat because I care about the real victims of crime -- criminals.
I'm voting Democrat because the real cure for racism includes preferential policies based on race -- particularly in presidential voting. If you believe that a black candidate ought to be qualified, as well as black, you're worse than Bull Conner.
I'm voting Democrat because everyone deserves crappy healthcare. Sure, you'll have to wait years for that life-saving cancer surgery. But it's first come, first served at the cemetery!
I'm voting Democrat because I believe in minority rights (except in Muslim countries), free speech (with regard to pornography but not conservative talk radio), environmentalism (unless we're talking about Al Gore's house) and diplomacy (but never backed by the threat of military force).
I'm voting Democrat because I like the words "hope" and "change." Also "kazoo." That's a funny word.
I'm voting Democrat because I believe that America's founders were rich, white, greedy xenophobes, and that America's founding principles are hogwash requiring periodic editing from an unelected group of liberal judges.
Most of all, I'm voting Democrat because I like the ideas they have over in France, but I don't feel like moving there. I'll threaten to move, but I really won't. After all, I have a good job, healthcare, lower taxes, free speech and a social framework that promotes family structure. And all of it is defended by the most effective fighting force on the planet.
If only the institution of far-left values resulted in a great country. Oh, well. That won't stop me from voting Democrat, though. After all, I'm voting Democrat because thought isn't one of my strong suits."

I have Survive Like the Rest of Us registered with WGA-East (Writer's Guild of America). I tried to submit this skit idea to Mad TV. But, they don't accept submissions from the public.
So I post it wherever I can. The jobs for the candidates? I had Barack as an insurance salesman, Hillary- teacher, Fred Thompson-truck driver. McCain-Janitor/super in a buidling. They would have to actually deal with people not wiling to pay them anything to do what they should be doing. Daily annoyances. Like Little children fighting, not listening, distrupting the class, parents insisting it's not their job to teach their children--it's yours alone. Clogged sinks, disposal not working.
Both parties have failed us. One after the other for many years. It's time We the People took back this country. Come on people it's just a phone call or e-mail (or letter).

Considerthis~great post. I love the American Idol/Survivor by the week idea.
Average Joe:
I actually have the pleasure of doing audits for a reverse mortgage company on a as needed basis. Actually I don't agree with them but for what they pay me for a couple hours a week to audit the files I can't resist. The Reverse Mortgages won't go belly up like others. The bank will be stuck holding the bag for awhile, basically til the homeowner dies. If its a last resort and keeps them in their home and their medicine and food continues I don't have big issues with it. Other alternatives are available and better but they can never be foreclosed on and they almost work the same way except the kids will get cut out of any equity left to inherit but the bank will suffer more than the homeowner.

I thought I was going to have to pencil in my dead dogs for President. I've talked to many people who aren't going to vote. A few, to my surprise talked of the lesser evil. Well the lesser evil is still an evil.
Yes, this administration hasn't helped us. But, neither will the next with the CONgress we have now. And I mean both sides. I've been a Republican, I've been a Democrat, I am now a proud Independent. And I have found a candidate I can stand behind. Do I agree with all of his views? No. But, the major ones that will help this country. I do. Will he win? Probably not. But, if enough of us vote for him, I might wake up the next President and Congress.
He says what I've been saying No matter what the candidates say. Nothing will be done to help the average person. Not with our bought and paid for CONgress. Many of these thieves leave office and work for lobbyists. We need to stop this cycle. For your children's children's children. NOW,
They can't get money from special interests if they don't hold the job. Special interests won't know who to buy off, if we keep changing the players. Trouble is. They run unopposed. What's to fear? Let's get some regular people to run. It's the only way.
Abe Lincoln said, If we lose our freedoms it will not be from an outside assassin, it will be from within.
Hilter said. How fortunate for rulers that man does not think.

While many of you have made very good points. Some of you have missed the mark by back and forth nonsense.
The reason we have problems in this country is CONgress. THey make the laws. It's funny how both candidates are CONgressmen the very people who have made the laws they now say they'll "Help us" with. Too funny. Does anyone actually believe that b.s.?
If you look back to the 70's, Newsweek 1977, for instance you will see we had the same problems. Health care concerns; the uninsured, the cost and the fraud. Nothings changed. Energy concerns--Newsweek 1977 the mention of 300 year supply of coal. THe scare tactics "We'll be in the dark in 35 years."
The only thing that's changed in 30 years is the size of politician's bank accounts. Neither side works for us. GET IT? The Dems have been in control of CONgress since last November and their promises of reducing the price of gas is well.... Have you see the price of gas? As long as we allow fingerpointing neither party has to be accountable.
THere are over 7 million registered voters in Ohio alone. We are our own lobby. If we choose to use it. If everyone called their representatives and the candidates and both worthless parties and told them; "I won't vote for anyone who tells me I am responsible for the weather and wants to tax me accordingly."
Tell them we need a third party. One who can't be bought. When we stop treating them as celebrities and more like the thieves they are, then we will see progress.
Weather changes. Taxes are forever. Stop scaring our children into future taxation. I have bumper stickers, sweats and T's with that saying and; I am stuck with the government you deserve. t's and sweats.
We can make a change because if you are waiting for the goverment to help you have a very long wait at a very high cost.
I research:
Any law I've looked into was sponsored and co-sponsored by one from each party. So hello?
I am not telling anyone to think as I do, I just want them to think. How can you only hearing one side?
I've researched this ice age, global warming, cooling, warming, oh, climate change and if people would again call D.C. (Deceptive Collective) and tell them science can only make an informed decision when both sides are presented. Demand to hear both sides. Come on it's time we messed with the politicians. We can watch them squirm. THe media too, backpeddling. Because if you are paying attention such as reading the ABJ on November 4, 2007 you will note several articles on gw initiatives and all say our utilities and gas will go up oh but "It's for the environment." All this for an infinitesimal increase that not only took 100 years but is cyclical like political b.s.
My editorial which appeared in the next day's ABJ was horribly altered. Sentences taken out and words totally changed. Making most of my piece untrue. The only thing they didn't change is that if this continues and We the People remain quiet. I will have to tell my grandchildren that I can't come to their school event because I used my carbon credits (money laundering, redistribution of wealth).
We can make a difference it only takes a call, an e-mail.
We have more contestants on American Idol than President. SOooooo I say let's combine the two. It will be called Surivie Like the Rest of Us. You with me?
All the candidates will have to hold a regular 9-5 job (none of this working 106 days a year). With this job they'll have to pay for everything housing, car, insurance, prescriptions, medical, everything. No help from friends, trusts, special interests.
We'll tune in every week to see if they'll buy prescriptions or eat that week. We'll see them using coupons. Just get their property taxes. Oh, the fun never ends. The Mrs.' gets her nails done at the mall instead of the Salon? Is that nail fungus I see?
Watch their eyes bulge as they pull up to the pumps. Because now the American taxpayers aren't footing the bill.
We'll change the rules on them just in case they thought they could make it another week.
And the one who can Survive Like the Rest of Us can become President. How about it?

I understood about the fees Ohiogal. I was just emphasizing how huge the commissions were on some of those loans. That wasn't just a brokers fee, that was the salespersons finders and processing fee. Those are crazy commissions.
We also used to finance Automobile loans at 125% of the value. Depending on credit. Also banks were urging people to add car loans etc to their clients home equity loans.
Are the people held responsible for negative equity in their property, like they are for neg car equity?
I think one of the next big problems we'll see is the reverse mortgage, those are lawsuits waiting to happen.
Thanks for the info and explaining that. You're right...if it looks to good....

I didn't say any of those things Why. I do blame everyone who is in office right now but to pin the blame on just the president and VP is ludacris. They are just that P and VP not our empirors. The rest of our govt is doing the same, nothing And many are profiting just as much. Just as Al Gore and George Soros and the Hedge fund managers. If George Soros made 2.9B in his own pocket, how much did the fund profit? They won't even reveal that. Where are the outcrys for windfall profits? His profits went up 400% while helping create a disaster in the banking industry. So far GI has made 300M. I feel these men have many of the key Dems in their pockets. Also, part of having a weakened dollar makes it easier for exporters to sell their product over seas. Will it help us? Who knows.

1. I though you were well versed in history. Just not meteorologic history. Other wise you would see that the ice caps have melted and expanded throughout history. Or do we just believe science that suits the current trend.
2. Watch Charlie Wilson's War and see how the govt works to get what they want. It's all about votes and appropriations. Only we can change it by voting the incumbents out.
3. I agree borrowing from China is part of the problem. But when the hedge fund managers, mainly the forex traders skim the value off the banks there is going to be devaluation. Read about FOREX trading and how it works. It's pretty interesting. A scam, really. Like Social Security.
4. Believe what you want. In some of the posts you've made here I see you've made that apparent.
5. Abject loser? GTFOH my dad called me way worse than that. Disappointment? Pleazzzze that's weak.
Now not only are you the smartest guy on here but you're telling us you talk to dead people? Wow!!!

Average Joe,
When I spoke of the $6,000 closing costs, that included the bank fee's, title costs, fee's to the state and county as well as the brokers fee's. Just a general number thrown around. The banks are responsible as well for allowing people to "lie" or "state their income". For a 1/2% interest rate increase a borrower could basically state within reason the amount of money they made as long as they also had good credit. I just don't feel that the rest of us who don't have the buyers remorse should bail out the banks and consumers who acted irresponsibility. Prime rate is very low right now and prevailing interest rates should be lower but the banks are trying to make more money on their new money than the typical "spread" to offset some of their huge losses.
I think if you want to walk away from your property or loose it to foreclosure that you still need to be held accountable. The difference between what it sells for and what you owe should not be able to be bankrupted. They should not allow these people to just erase their bad debt and bad judgement. We as responsible consumers will eventually pay for it. Also their is an abundance of loans that haven't defaulted yet but we'll see another spike about a year from now. Back in 2003 negative amortization loans became very popular. Basically you could refinance a $94,000.00 loan and your new balance with closing costs would be about $100,000. Then the lender gave you a choice as to three different payments you can choose from to pay. The first was a full principal and interest payment, the second was an interest payment only and the third was a payment less than the interest. Now in 03 you could get a loan for about 5.5% but if you took one of these your rate was about 8.5%. The bonus was you could pay the third option and the difference was just applied to your loan balance. The lenders allowed you to go "negative" until you reach about $125,000. Then your loan resets and you have to start making full payments and have only 25 years to do so. Many people sold this believing their incomes would go up and so would the value of the house. These types of loans are all going to be resetting starting in late 2008 and continue on for a few years as everyone hits their maxed out amount of negative amortization. These people can't refinance as their home is only worth the original $100,000 and their new payment is going to double from what they have gotten used to. Watch and see. Round two of mortgage defaults will not be pretty. The payments on the above example work out like this. Had they just taken the 100,000 at 5.5% they'd have had 30 years of $567 per month, with the negative loan they are able to pay about $375 a month but the extra $192 goes on their balance each month so after 5 years and 60 months of "saving" $l92 a month that total of 15,020 gets added to the original $100,000 so it is ll5,020 for 25 years at 8.5% for a new payment of $926. These are the loans we saw Countrywide advertising on television that you could borrow $100,000 for $350.00 a month. When it sounds too good to be true it usually is!

averagejoe,
You are really lost. Blame everyone BUT the people in office now! Ok...whatever you say, you are correct. I'll drink the kool-aid now. Global warming is made up by Al Gore so he can start an investment group. No, the NASA photos of the melting ice caps is all FAKE.
Yes, it is the democrats who are making up the time lines for oil exploration, not the department of energy.
Yes, I refuse to believe that borrowing 12 billion a month on the war in Iraq is the reason the dollar is falling and oil is becoming more expensive.
Yes there is an Easter Bunny. Santa lives in the North Pole. Any other delusion I should subscribe to?
In regards to what your dad calls you...I know. He has told me what an abject loser you are and what a disappointment you have been to the family.
