Trick-or-Treat in November?

Does anyone know who is responsible for ruining the Halloween fun in Kent? It is so disappointing to see that Trick -or- Treat will be on Sunday Nov 1st instead of Saturday Oct 31st....The actual Halloween date. What is the problem with having the fun this year ON Halloween? Not to mention that Franklin Elemantary is the only school who actually has a Halloween Parade & Party for the kids. I dont understand. Cant they ALL have that? I called the school district a few yrs ago to ask why (after embarrassing my kid by sending her to school with her costume) we have a "Harvest" party & no parade & was told that they did not know, probley it was offensive to someone in the past. Well, IM offended that these children will never have the awesome experience of parading in costume around the nieghborhood & then having a HALLOWEEN party. Its supposed to be fun & something for the kids to look forward too (and myself, I admit, I LOVE this time of year). Most towns STILL hold these events & do Trick-or-Treat at night. I understand the safety concerns that some people have but we tiptoe around EVERYTHING these days & I really dont see society getting better, so lets at least bring back some innocent childhood fun!!! :)
+ Thanks & have a safe & happy Fall-Time.

According to www.kentohio.gov (Kent's web site) Kent's trick or treat is Saturday, October 31st from 3-5 p.m. I found it under "Citizen's Center", and did a search for trick or treat under "Find Answers".

I still can not find anything that states when trick or treat is this year in Kent. It's always on Sunday afternoon. Has been for years.

Kent always does Trick or Treat on Sunday. Sort of like how the Simpsons always did their holiday episodes in the few days following the actual holiday. So kids can trick or treat on Friday in some cities, then Saturday in others, and Sunday in Kent, and that is a bad thing? Ask your kids! More possibilities for candy is NEVER a bad thing.

Marroos1...Even though I find your comment amusing and laughed for a good 10 minutes at it...perhaps when you were in school you shouldn't have attended the Halloween Party or any party for that matter and instead went and studied English, Grammar, Spelling and Punctuation. Maybe the reason the schoool canceled the parties...and not the "lesbian" principal...is so future students are a bit smarter?
