How many cars are in our county that does not have to be echecked ?? Lots....I for one live in this county where e check is required, which soon I wont be able to drive my car cause the testing which is required will get my car parked since there is no money to get the engine light off...Mind you my car runs great but with the light on it wont be passed....So without a car there is no work, without work there is no money to feed my family or pay my bills....Its time to do away with this dumb testing which is a waste of time and money...Theres lots of cars in this county that do not get tested, they may be passing through or they come to our county for work..Either way is just a nuisance to go through this testing process.....

Well people just be thankful that you do not live in other states. I know in California they require smog checks this cost depends on what type of car it is and how old-I have heard of the cost being between 150-250 just for the check. So yeah it sucks but it could be much much worse!!

It's all about $$$$$$
Think about all the registration money, the echeck money, the tax, and the plates.
Ever calculate how much that is...boggles the mind and that is just for your car.
It's just forced on us, our wallets, and it's a cash cow for the state based on BS.

It's an unfair system, seriously no trains, planes, and semi-trucks have to get echecked, yet they have exhaust they pollute so wtf?
As sorts of out of county traffic passes through here wht about them, they bring their pollution here.
Every time I time hear about this,it just sounds like some kind of money laundering operation,no services are actually provided yet money changes hands.

Wow T.I.B.S. you've been lucky. The state has been mailing random letters since the early 90's I think.

Well isn't this an interesting opinion post. On the matter of e-Check, it's not even helpful if the entire state of Ohio makes testing mandatory. How many vehicles drive into and out of Ohio from PA, etc? If the environment was such a big concern there would be federal regulations in place that would even the playing field across all states.

Secondly, the state of Ohio financially benefits from the way they check for insurance. If they started turning away people due to lack of insurance proof they would lose registration dollars. Then when those same individuals get caught driving without insurance they earn money on reinstatement fees as punishment for breaking the law.

While I agree that if insurance is a requirement it should take more then a signature to prove it, the state of Ohio is looking at ways they can make money off the insurance laws.
