Mildred Hoff

Born June 21, 1908 in Kinchloe, W.Va., she was the daughter of Waitman T. and Florence (Currey) Smith. She had lived in Spencer, W.Va., until she moved to Ravenna in 1945.

Mrs. Hoff was a member of First United Methodist Church in Ravenna for more than 50 years and the Marian Circle and Willing Workers Sunday School class. She also was active in the Women's Civic Club of Ravenna, Annevar Garden Club of Ravenna and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Ravenna Chapter.

Survivors include her son, Peter of Columbus; daughter, Betty LeBlanc of Stow; eight grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brothers, Fred Smith of Spencer, W.Va., Wayne Smith of Denver, Colo., and Eugene Smith of Kent; and sister, Freda Roberts of Morenci, Mich. Her husband, Jason Sammy Hoff, died in 1995. Her sons, William and James, grandson, Bradley Hoff, sister, Minnie Wilson, and brothers, Doyle, Roy and Don Smith, also died previously.

Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Wood-Kortright Funeral Home, Ravenna Chapel ,where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Thomas Poremba officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna.
