Lawrence Charles Memmer, Sr.

Born Sept. 7, 1911 in Suffield, he was the son of Howard and Clara (Griggy) Memmer. He movied to Randolph 50 years ago.

Mr. Memmer retired in 1974 from Gougler Industries of Kent, where he had been employed for 32 years in the maintenance department. He also was a farmer in Randolph for more than 50 years.

He was a member of St. Joseph Church in Randolph.

Survivors include his wife, Agnes Mary (Schaefer), to whom he had been married for 62 years; sons, Lawrence Charles Jr. of Niles, Walter of Ravenna, Howard of Kent, Daniel of Randolph and David of Rootstown; daughters, Mrs. William (Dorothy) Rankin of Kent, Mrs. Peter (Mary) Hershberger of Kent, Delores Baer of Rootstown, Mrs. Forest (Rosemary) Bixler of Ravenna, Mrs. Gary (Diane) Jones of Ravenna, and Mrs. Ed (Sue) Spell of Kittaning, Pa.; 29 grandchildren; 15 great- grandchildren; brother, Paul of Hartville; and sister, Iris Mori of Hartville.

Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Wood-Kortright Funeral Home, Ravenna Chapel. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Church in Randolph, with the Rev. Edward Wieczorek officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Randolph Fire Department Rescue Squad or St. Joseph Church.
