Born July 15, 1917 in Akron, he was the son of John L. and Bessie (Momow) Sauner Sr. He had lived in the township for more than 50 years.
Mr. Sauner retired in 1983 from Goodyear Aerospace where he had worked as a research technician.
He was a member of the Rootstown Community Church. He had been active in Boy Scouts where he had served as a scout leader and as the scout commissioner for Portage County. He had also been involved in the Goodyear Air Scouts.
Survivors include his wife, Vivian (Reed), to whom he had been married for 61 years; sons, John R. (Betty) and Tim of Rootstown; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Wood-Kortright
Funeral Home, Ravenna Chapel where services will be held at 11 a.m.
Tuesday with the Rev. Roy Kelsey officiating. Burial will be in Hillside
Cemetery in Randolph.
