Elizabeth J. (Bumphrey) Tetlow

Born Aug. 28, 1913 in Gary, Ind., she was the daughter of Albert H. and Edith J. Bumphrey. A graduate of Theodore Roosevelt High School and Kent State University, she lived in Kent until she moved to Youngstown in 1942.

Mrs. Tetlow was an intermediate school teacher at Central Elementary School in Kent for four years. She taught in the Youngstown school district for 15 years, teaching fourth grade and tutoring children with disabilities.

She was a member of Canfield Methodist Church,Women's City Club, Sigma Phi Epsilon and Gamalon Club. She was first president of the Mahoning County Bar Association Auxiliary.

She is survived by her sons, John J. of Loganville, Ga., and Albert of Canfield, with whom she made her home. Her husband, Horace G., whom she married Jan. 29, 1940, died Nov. 8, 1992. Her brother, Cecil Bumphrey, and sister, Mrs. Stewart (Olive) Willis, also died previously.

Services were held at Higgins Funeral Home in Canfield. Burial was in Greenhaven Memorial Gardens in Canfield.
