James Shaeffer

Born Aug. 15, 1921, in Holloway, he was the son of Ignatius "Red" and Stella (Gladesky) Shaeffer. He was a resident of Macedonia for 32 years.

Mr. Shaeffer was a foreman for Magnetics International in Maple Heights, where he worked since he was a teenager. He retired in 1986.

He served with the U.S. Army in World War II and was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Macedonia.

Survivors include his wife, Wilma (Malinosky); a son, James "Shifty" (Mary Margaret "Maggie") Jr. of Ravenna; a daughter, Linda McRitchie of Macedonia; nine grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Pelkowski of Holloway.

Calling hours are 2 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Ferfolia Funeral Home in Sagamore Hills. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Macedonia. Burial will be in Hawley Cemetery in Paris Township.
