Born June 11, 1915 in Newton Falls, she was the daughter of Frank and Ida (Wallace) Stewart. She formerly lived in Champion and Newton Falls.
Mrs. Swerline worked for Country Classics for 10 years as a retail clothing clerk until she retired in 1983.
She was a member of the Newton Falls United Methodist Church, a 50-year member of Chapter No. 79 of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her son, Lee of Newton Falls; daughters, Mrs. Frederic (Linda) Beagle and Mrs. Donald (Kay) Cole, both of Champion; five grandchildren; and sister, Eleanor Burr of Ann Arbor, Mich. Her husband, Albert C., whom she married Jan. 3, 1943, died Aug. 29, 1974. A sister, Elizabeth Seivert, and brother, Max Stewart, also died previously.
Calling hours will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at James Funeral Home in Newton Falls, where an Eastern Star service will be held at 6:45 p.m. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Newton Falls United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Newton Falls Cemetery.
