Born Nov. 10, 1911 in Aliquippa, Pa., she was the daughter of Nicholas and Anna (Ladenberger) Krell. She moved to Rootstown from Pennsylvania in 1939 and recently was a resident of Longmeadow Care Center.
Mrs. Kmetko and her husband, Vito Nardo, were co-owners and operators of the New Milford Cafe from 1941 to 1967.
She was a member of St. Peter of the Fields Church in Rootstown..
Survivors include her daughters, Mrs. Robert (Delores) Anderson and Mrs. Gerald (Betty) Ward, both of Rootstown; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Hilda Pawelkoski, Elizabeth Cunningham, Elsie Zalewski, and Marie Patrician, all of Pennsylvania. Her first husband, Vito Nardo; second husband, Michael Kmetko; grandson, Robert Anderson; and brother, Jacob Krell, died previously.
Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 tonight at Wood-Kortright Funeral Home, Ravenna Chapel. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter of the Fields Church in Rootstown. Burial will be in St. Peter of the Fields Cemetery.
