Born Sept. 27, 1923 in Charlestown, he was the son of Charles and Alice Griffith.
Mr. Griffith worked for Associates Commercial Corp. of Cleveland and South Bend, Ind. and retired as its Oklahoma district manager in 1982. He was also a credit manager for Sooner Great Dane Trailers, retiring in 1996.
He served with the 78th Infantry Division in Europe in World War II and ERCA Artillery during the Korean Conflict, earning the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and the World War II Victory Medal. He was also a member of the Oklahoma City Presbyterian Church, the 78th Infantry Division Veterans Association and the Oklahoma City Notre Dame Club.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; son, Morgan (Caren) of Vevay, Ind.; daughters, Mrs. Curtis (Evan) Gerfen of Oklahoma City, Mrs. Wes (Megan) Newberry of Edmond, Okla.; five grandchildren; brothers, Burnell of Kent, Tom of Ravenna, and Eugene of Charlotte, N.C.; and sisters, Phoebe Swain and Marcene Sorboro of Ravenna and Joan Butz of Kent.
There will be no calling hours. Services will be held Friday in Oklahoma City. Arrangements are being handled by the Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary in Oklahoma City.
