Born in Rootstown, he was a 1951 graduate of Rootstown High School. He lived in Portage County until 1964. He had lived in Misssissippi for 18 years.
Mr. Knoch was a former resident of Houston, where he worked in Mission Control at the Johnson Space Center. He was a retired computer engineer for North American Rockwell.
A U.S. Air Force veteran, he was a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include his son, Michael G. of Long Beach, Miss.; daughters, Cynthia Leslie Straight of Saucier, and Kelly Ann Lochner of Gulfport, Miss.; six grandchildren; and sisters, Martha Knoch of Akron, Pat Roosa of Ravenna, Norma Corley of Taveres, Fla., Betty Sanders of Ravenna, Freda Mae Englehart of Brimfield and Bernadette Mills of Akron. His wife, Barbara; brother, Michael; and sister, Helen Burger, died previously.
