Born Dec. 14, 1943, in Ashland, he was the son of Herschel Albert and Dolly Belle (Watson) Stitzlein. He had lived in Stow for 20 years before moving to Charlestown three and a half years ago.
Mr. Stitzlein was a shift mechanic with Cargill Salt of Akron.
He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church of Ravenna.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Marie (Jones); daughters, Mrs. Glenn (Pamela) Russell of Diamond, Lucinda of Springfield Township and Lisa of Cuyahoga Falls; six grandchildren; his mother, Dolly of Loundonville, Ohio; and sister, Dorothy Holderbaum of Loundonville. His father died previously.
Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Wood-Kortright Funeral in Ravenna, where services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Charlestown Cemetery.
