He was born March 31, 1913 in Cleveland, the son of Frederick and Helen (Mastolkova) Plesmid.
Mr. Plesmid had been a resident of the Mantua area since 1950 after living for many years in Cleveland and Bedford. He was a plant manager at Columbia Metal Stamping in Cleveland, retiring in 1977.
He was also member St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mantua and a member of Pope Pius XII Assembly, Fourth Degree and the Mantua Knights of Columbus No. 3766. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during World War II.
He is survived by his daughters, Mrs. Kurt (Bonnie) Horack of Mantua and Mrs. Terry (Kamila) Huff of Trinidad, Calif.; brother, John Plesmid of Chagrin Falls; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. His wife, Marie, died in 1983. Sisters, Anne Weedon and Kay Brown also died previously,
Calling hours will be held 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Green's Funeral Home in Mantua. There will be a prayer service at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home followed by services at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mantua, the Rev. Thomas McCarthy officiating. Burial will take place in Westlawn Cemetery in Mantua Township.
