Born July 19, 1933 in Uniontown, Pa., he was the son of Michael and Margaret (Foltin) Painley. He had lived in Hiram for 22 years.
Mr. Painley worked as a division manager at Sears for 42 years and also worked part-time at Sugarbush Golf Club in Garrettsville.
He was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church in Garrettsville and a member of the Board of Public Affairs in Hiram. He also was an avid golfer.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores (Farris), whom he married May 4, 1956; sons, Kevin (Candy), Keith (Kim) and Jason, all of Hiram, Terry (Joyce) of Stow, and Kyle of Garrettsville; daughter, Mrs. Tom (Tami) Caldwell of Ravenna; three grandchildren; brother Thomas of Mantua; and sister, Marlene Stefancin of Parma.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home in Garrettsville. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church in Garrettsville with Rev. Richard J. Pentello officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Hiram.
