Born Sept. 2, 1946, in Lynn, Mass., he was the son of Frederick and Margaret (Martin) Anderson.
Mr. Anderson received his doctoral degree in business administration in 1976 from Michigan State University; his MBA in 1970 from Kent State University and graduated cum laude in 1968 with a bachelor's degree in business administration from KSU.
He was a member of the American Marketing Association, the Association for Consumer Research, the American Finance Association, the Philosophy of Science Association and the Society for Social Studies of Science. He received the 1979 William E. Wine Awards, a university-wide teaching award, and was a member of the Academy of Teaching Excellence, both from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
Survivors include his wife, Robin L. Stueber, whom he married March 21, 1970; daughter, Alissa B., a student at Bryn Mawr College; his parents; and sister, Carol Plante of Brookline, N.H.
Calling hours will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Koch Funeral Home in State College, Pa, were services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday.
