BRIMFIELD _ Jean F. Cannon, 88, president of Cannon and Hutsler Construction Co., died Sunday. He was born Sept. 2, 1909 in Brimfield, the son of Harry and Lula (Beal) Cannon. Mr. Cannon was a retired carpenter. He was a lifetime member of the Faith United Methodist Church and past patron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Olive Chapter 53. He was a member of Rockton Masonic Lodge No. 316 in Kent, where he had served as chaplain for many years. He was a member of the Kent Chapter Royal Arch Masons 192, the Cuyahoga Falls Commandry Knights Templars and a 32nd Degree Mason, Valley of Canton Consistory. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed flowers. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Corinne (Gates), to whom he was married for 65 years; son, David (Nancy) Cannon of Brimfield; daughter, Mrs. Robert (Barbara) Hutsler of Rootstown; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sisters, Mildred Clapp of Cuyahoga Falls and Lila Moore of Ravenna. His brother, Leonard and sister, Mabel, died previously. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Wood-Kortright Funeral Home, Kent Chapel, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Dwaine Stanley officiating. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery in Brimfield. Memorials may be made to the memorial fund of Faith United Methodist Church of Brimfield.
