Stanley K. Bliss, 78, of Garrett Street, Kent, died Thursday at his home.
Born July 18, 1919, in Boston, Mass., he was the son of Walter K. and Bertha (Brighty) Bliss.
Mr. Bliss was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II who served with the 730th Ordinance Company in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe. He was a retired electrician from Kent State University.
Survivors include his wife, Rose E. (Riggs), whom he married Nov. 17, 1945; sons, Clifford of Ravenna and Ronald and Roger of Campbell, Calif.; daughter, Claudia of Amenia, NY; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Donald of Delanco, N.J.; sisters, Lorraine Gruner of Captain Cook, Hawaii, Phyllis Collins of Beverly, Mass. and Priscilla Colarusso of Winthrop, Mass. His brothers, Robert and Allison, and great-granddaughter, Amanda, died previously.
Calling hours will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday with memorial services at 3:30 p.m. at the Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent with the Rev. Edward P. Peterson officiating.
