MANTUA _ Gus C. Grano, 79, died Friday at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna after a long illness.
Born April 25, 1918 in Thomaston, Conn., he was the son of Domenick and Concetto Grano. A Mantua area since 1997, he formerly lived in Euclid and Geneva, Ohio, for 27 years.
Mr. Grano was an assembler for 35 years at Cleveland Crain and Engineering in Wickliffe until he retired in 1981.
He was a member of His Ministry in Aurora.
Survivors include his wife, Marcella; sons, Robert Gambel of Willoughby and Gus of Euclid; daughters, Mrs. Pete (Clara) Bora of Cleveland, Mrs. Blake (Donna) Ladac of Mentor, Mrs. Greg (Sue) Marian of Burton, Mrs. Dennis (Barbara) Sampson of Euclid, Mrs. Raymond (Theresa) Ward of Mantua, Kathy Gamber of Richmond Heights, and Lynda Warner of Mantua;19 grandchildren;16 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Celia Burnette of Mentor, and Mary Frabotta and Phyllis Sabrunno, both of Lake County.
Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at His Ministry in Aurora, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Florence Udell officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery in Mantua. Green's Funeral Home in Mantua is in charge of arrangements.
