Richard Klingensmith

HIRAM _ Richard H. Klingensmith, 69, died Friday at Geauga Regional Hospital in Chardon.

Born Sept. 6, 1928, in Washta, Iowa, he was the son of H. Glenn and Vera (Robinson) Klingensmith. A former Arkansas resident, he had lived in Hiram for one year.

Mr. Klingensmith was a food broker and owner of Rocky Mountain Marketing Services.

He was an elder of the Presbyterian Church in Bella Vista, Ark.

He served in the U.S. Army in Korea, attaining the rank of sergeant.

Survivors include his wife, Flora Lu; son, Richard H. Jr. of Aurora, Colo.; daughters, Shelly Lyon of Carmel Valley, Calif., Kathy of Hiram, and Jennie Smith of Houston; eight grandchildren; brothers, David of Iowa, Roger of Minnesota, Daniel of Minnesota, Scott of Georgia, and Michael of New York; and sisters, Ruth Hastings of Arizona, Joan Oberdeck of Florida, Kaye Metcalfe of Florida, and Marilyn Dowart of Florida.

Private family services will be held at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Golden Rule Funeral Home in Garrettsville.
