Mildred Ruth Kelly, 79, mother of James A. Kelly of Ravenna, died Friday at her daughter's home in Hanoverton, Ohio after a long illness.
Born Feb. 7, 1918, in Upshire County, W. Va., she was the daughter of Dillie and Gertrude (Crites) Howes.
Mrs Kelly was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Protestant faith and the Ladies Auxiliary of Salem, Ohio, VFW Post No. 892.
In addtion to her son James, survivors include son, Charles Lee; daughter, Mrs. Jacqueline Shagnot of Hanoverton; brother, Eddie Howes of Florida; sister, Mrs. Harry (Marie) of Salem; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Her husband, Charles, to whom she was married Nov. 14, 1945, died Dec. 17, 1986.
Calling hours will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. today at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home, 1014 E. State St. in Salem, where services will be held beginning at 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Bonnie Habbersett officiating.
