Born Sept. 25, 1933 in Bedford, he was the son of William F. and Veronica A. (Shanley) Curran. He had lived in Streetsboro for 42 years.
Mr. Curran was a brick layer with the Local No. 5 in Cleveland and also was self-employed.
A U.S. Army veteran, he was a member of American Legion Post No. 685 in Streetsboro and Solon Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was a member of the National Ski Patrol for 44 years and an avid horseshoe player.
Survivors include his wife, Joanne (Anderson), to whom he was married for 45 years; son, Danny (Tammy) of Streetsboro; daughters, Kathy (Jack) Williams of Streetsboro, Sandra Hodge of Twinsburg, Patty (Mike) Phillips of Aurora, Margaret (Sal) Mendolera of Auburn Township and Mary (John) Kline of Mantua; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers, Bernard and Raymond, both of California; and sisters, Margaret Downing of Willoughby, Carol Brower of Hudson, and Mercedes Lendvai of Arizona His brothers, David, Jack, Tom, Gerald, Pat and Larry, and sister, Janice, died previously.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Shorts Funeral Home, Streetsboro Chapel. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Streetsboro, with the Rev. Frederick Slaven officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Streetsboro.
