Arthur G. Schmitt, 73, died Thursday, Feb. 25, 1999.
Born July 25, 1925 in St. Joseph, he was the son of George and Louise (Krebs) Schmitt. He had lived in Stow since 1966.
Mr. Schmitt retired as a self-employed mold maker in 1982 after 25 years.
A U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II, he was a member of American Legion Post No. 175 in Stow.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys, to whom he had been married 49 years; son, Tim of Lakemore; daughter, Luellen (Steve) Robertson of Leavenworth, Kan.; three grandchildren; brother, Fred of Akron; sisters, Alice Locher of Tallmadge, Louise (David) Goodhart of Hartville and Bernadette (Donald) Brown of Green.
Calling hours will be 6 to 9 tonight and from 9 a.m. until services at 10 a.m. Saturday at Redmon Funeral Home in Stow, with the Rev. Jim Roma officiating. Entombment will be in Northlawn Mausoleum in Cuyahoga Falls.
