A memorial service will be held Sunday for Jack L. Foster Sr., 66, of Ravenna, who died Sunday, Feb. 7, 1999, at Akron City Hospital.
Born Oct. 8, 1932 in Clarksville, Pa., he was the son of Ralph L. and Pauline (Hossler) Foster. He moved to Ravenna in 1998.
Mr. Foster worked as a coal gauger on the river and coal tipples.
He was a member of Charlestown United Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy (Duffy), whom he married Aug. 20, 1960; son, Steve of Carlisle, Pa.; daughters, Diane Kramer of Heath, Ohio, and Tammy Deems of Clarksville, Pa.; 13 grandchildren; father and stepmother, Ralph L. and Billie of Randolph; brothers, Gary, Ralph, Reg and Bill; and sisters, Nancy Hagen, Alice Ahmed, Dorothy Pvats and Renee Leighty. His son, Jack L. Jr.;grandsons, Jack Foster III and Randall Deems Jr.; and mother died previously.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Charlestown United Methodist Church ,with the Rev. Norma Bates officiating. Jefferson Funeral Home in Jefferson, Pa., handled arrangements.
