Born July 25, 1928 in Stanford, Conn., she was the daughter of Andrew and Anna (Havlema) Turanec. Formerly of Rye, N.Y., she had lived in Streetsboro since 1959.
Mrs. Brna was a secretary. She had worked at Kent State University-Special Education, Morse Control in Hudson and Eaton Corp. in Aurora.
She was a member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Streetsboro and Order of the Eastern Star, James A. Garfield Chapter No. 508 in Aurora.
Survivors include her son, George Jr. of Streetsboro; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and sister, Helen Manka of Virginia. Her husband, George Sr., died in 1983. Her brother, Charles Pracna; and sisters, Ann Semsil and Mary Petro, died previously.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Shorts Funeral Home, Streetsboro Chapel. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Streetsboro, with the Rev. Denise Sager officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Park in Ravenna.
