Born Feb. 29, 1944, in Washington, Pa., he was the son of George and Kathryn (Murphy) Colpo Sr. He was reared in Burgettstown, Pa. before moving to Ravenna 48 years ago.
Mr. Colpo was a conductor for the Wheeling and Lake Erie Railroad.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was a member of the First Church of God in Ravenna and the Akron Eagles No. 555.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Lynn (Hysell), to whom he was married for 38 years; sons, Ken of Rootstown and Marc of North Carolina; daughter, Lisa Slechta of Ravenna; mother, Kathryn Colpo of Ravenna; six grandchildren; and sister, Linda Gombeda of Ravenna. A brother, Daniel, and nephew, Michael Gombeda, died previously.
There will be no calling hours. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the First Church of God in Ravenna with the Rev. Phillip Miller officiating. Private burial will take place.
Arrangements are being handled by the Shorts Funeral Home, Ravenna chapel.
