Ronald Morris, 58, of Newton Falls, a former Ravenna resident, died Tuesday, May 27, 2003, at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna. Born June 13, 1944, in Ravenna, he was the son of Alex and Gladys (Bogus) Morris. A Ravenna resident for most of his life, he had lived in Newton Falls for a year. Mr. Morris was a splicer. He was retired in 1994 from Ohio Bell/Ameritech. He had worked with his son at Morris Builders. He was a member of Brady Lake Baptist Church and Ravenna Moose Lodge No. 1234. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed woodworking. Survivors include his wife, Sharlene (Rhodes), to whom he was married 40 years; son, Mark (Justine) of Streetsboro; daughters, Kim (Todd) Garland of Newton Falls and Tina (Michael) Whitmore of Ravenna Township; and nine grandchildren. His sister, Jeanette Booth, died previously. Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Shorts Funeral Homes, Ravenna Chapel, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Lorren Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
