Howard E. (Bud) Schwinn

Howard E. (Bud) Schwinn, 80, of Tavares, FL, formally of Ravenna, OH, passed away on Monday, November 19, 2012 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born May 21, 1932 in Ravenna, OH to Howard G. and Lucille (Ney) Schwinn.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemary (Smith) Schwinn; children, Joni (Charles) Holloway of Ravenna, OH, Pam Daugherty of Satsuma, FL, Bonnie (Samuel) Beetler of Ravenna, OH, Andrea (Matthew) Anderson of Shaker Heights, OH; grandchildren: Charles (Cathryn) Holloway, Michael Holloway, Steven Daugherty, Danyell Daugherty, Samuel Beetler II, Matthew (Tonya) Beetler, Oriana Anderson and Emerie Anderson; and great-grandchildren: Jacob, Katelyn, and Steven Jr.

He was proceeded in death by his first wife, Nancy (Bissonette) Schwinn; mother, Lucille (Ney) Schwinn; parents, Howard and Esther Schwinn; brothers, Charles and Darl; sister, LaRita; son-in-law, Howard Daugherty.

His greatest joys in life were spending time with his family and friends, and also traveling with his wife. Howard graduated from Ravenna Twp. in 1950. He was a Korean War veteran, serving 4 years in the U.S. Air Force in the 29th Radio Squadron Mobile, USAF Security Services. Howard retired with 30 years of service from the U.S. Postal Service in Ravenna, OH. He previously worked for the Ford Motor Co. & later worked at Vale Edge Florist. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Ravenna, OH and an associate member of Adventure Christian Church in Tavares, FL. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. and a member of the Ravenna Moose Lodge.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 from 11:00 AM until the 1:00 PM Memorial Service officiated by Reverend Dr. Perry Mattern at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Inurnment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery with full military honors by the U.S. Air Force and the Ravenna VFW post 1055.
