John "Jack" Clifford Bradshaw passed away peacefully in his home on November 30, 2012, at 84 years old, his loving wife Joyce by his side. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle.
He is survived by his loving wife Joyce of 62.5 years, daughter, Janice Lee Shade (husband, David), son, John Baxter, son, James Pritchard (wife, Joanna), and son, Jeffrey Mark (wife, Kathy). John's grandchildren are Matthew Shade (wife Kasey), Julianne Boushehry (husband, Ross), John Allan Bradshaw (wife, Sarah), Kimberly Allman (husband, Richard), Drew Bradshaw (wife, Nicole), Megan Bradshaw, Emily Simons (husband, David), Clifford Bradshaw, Rachel Bradshaw, Leah Bradshaw, and Grace Bradshaw. Great-grandchildren are John "Jack" Shade, Ashlynn Shade, Quinn Boushehry, and Maxwell Boushehry. John is also survived by his sister Hilda Clark-Grant and nephew Robert Clark.
John was born in Cleveland, Ohio on March 20, 1928 and graduated from Shaw High School, East Cleveland, in 1946. He volunteered for the U.S. Navy serving aboard the USS Francis M. Robinson (DE-220). Following an Honorable Discharge in 1948, John was employed by the City of East Cleveland for 26 years as a career firefighter. Upon his retirement, John continued working for the City of Euclid, Ohio, as a Deputy Clerk in the Office of Clerk of Court for Judge Robert Niccum.
In 1978, John and his family relocated to Glendale, Arizona where John was employed by the Peoria Unified School District as a bus driver and an elementary school maintenance foreman. In 1987, John relocated to Kent, Ohio where he was employed as a bus driver by Campus Bus Service of Kent State University and Stow Public Schools. John continued his education at the University of Akron receiving certification as a Nurse Assistant and was placed into a caregiving position by Upjohn Healthcare Services. In 2004, John and Joyce returned to Scottsdale, Arizona. John was active in church throughout his life most recently attending Shepherd of the Desert Lutheran Church in Scottsdale. John will be remembered most for his faith, his love of family, his bear hugs, and his outgoing nature to everyone he met.
An internment service will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2012, 2:30 pm at Standing Rock Cemetery, 1361 N. Mantua Street, Kent, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that any charitable contributions given in John's memory be directed to Shepherd of the Desert Lutheran Church, 9590 E. Shea Boulevard, Scottsdale, Arizona, 85014
