Juanita R. Morrison of Diamond passed away Friday Dec 14, 2012 at Robinson Memorial Hospital at the age of 93. Juanita was born on October 15, 1919 in Dover, Ohio to the late Harry and Olga (Kaelin) Riggs.
Juanita grew up in Newton Falls and graduated in the class of 1939 from Newton Falls High School. She married her loving husband Edward A. Morrison on October 26, 1944 in Cumberland, Maryland. They moved to Diamond and raised their family there together until he passed away on May 17, 1976. She was still residing in the family home. Mrs. Morrison was a secretary for Sta-Warm Electric Company in Ravenna for 25 years retiring in 1984. Over the years Juanita has enjoyed her flowers, decorating cakes with the children and grandchildren, going on trips as often as she could in recent years to Mountaineer to gamble a little. But most of all she loved spending time with all her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchild.
She will be dearly missed by her family. Her two daughters and their husbands Joyce & Thomas Stanley of Diamond and Pamela & Stephen Cocks of Honiton, England. Two sons and their wives Edward & Diane Morrison of Lake Milton and Gary & Claudia Morrison of Diamond, 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by a sister June Jayne and a brother Jesse Leroy Riggs.
The family will receive friends Tuesday December 18th from 6 to 8PM followed by the funeral service at 8:00PM at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls. She will be laid to rest beside her late husband Edward A. Morrison in Palmyra West Cemetery.
