Anna C. Tolla, 1924-2012
CHAMPION -- The presence of family and their love was with Anna Tolla as she passed to eternal life on Saturday, December 15, 2012, at her residence in Champion.
On January 21, 1924, in Suffield, OH, Cletus J. and Rose Farnbaugh May welcomed the birth of their daughter, Anna Cecelia.
As a youth, Anna assisted the family with the daily chores on the family farm. She attended St. Joseph Catholic School and graduated from Suffield High School as Class Valedictorian, in 1942.
While she was in her brother's wedding, Anna met the bride's cousin, who also was in the wedding party. They immediately knew that their lives would be spent together. On July 16, 1949, at St. Joseph Church in Randolph, John Edward (Ed) Tolla and Anna Cecelia May were united in marriage.
Anna was a homemaker and assisted Ed in maintaining the daily operations of their dairy farm as the family grew to include nine children. She was a devoted wife and mother. The examples that Anna set forth in her principles of honesty, integrity and hard work became integral parts of her children's lives.
