Emanuel " Manny" Magilavy 12-30-12

Emanuel Magilavy, 93, of Akron passed away peacefully December 26, 2012. He was born in Akron December 17, 1919 to Dan and Belle Magilavy.

He was a B-17 pilot in WWII, and was shot down and captured, spending the remainder of the war in a POW camp in Germany. He returned home and raised a wonderful family full of love. He worked hard all of his life, retiring in his mid 80's as owner of Mardan Dry Cleaners. Manny was a man of great courage, kindness adn dignity, and a very good listener.

Manny was preceded in death by his daughter Deborah Seyer, sister Leona, and brother Jack.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 70 years, Billie, daughter Lynda Slikkerveer (John), sons Chuck Magilavy (Sue), Marc Magilavy (Karen), son-in-law Rick Seyer, Twelve grandchildren, six great grandchildren, brothers Dave and Maury and many special nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made in Manny's name to Barbed Wire Buckeye Chapter, 18477 Avon-Beldon Rd., Grafton, OH 44004. Private family service, Sunday, December 30.
