Carl George Wadsworth, 68, passed away at his residence on Saturday, December 29, 2012.
Carl was born in Camden, New Jersey on April 19, 1944 to parents George and Nellie Wadsworth. Carl was retired from many different occupations but many will remember him from his time spent as manager of West Branch State Park. Carl was a charter member of C.H.A.R.M. (Caribbean Health Assistance Rehabilitation Management) and truly enjoyed his involvement with the mission trips to the Dominican Republic. He was a member of the Edinburg United Church where he had been involved as the treasurer and liturgist. Carl was a past member and president of the Portage County Umpire Association and also past president of Edinburg Hot Stove and a board member of Tri-County Hockey. Carl was very much a people person but most of all he loved and enjoyed his family.
Carl is survived by his wife of 40 years, Joann. Surviving also are his children: Curtis Wadsworth, Dawn (Shannan) Booher, Judson (Susie) Wadsworth and Shawn (Charlotte) Wadsworth. He leaves his grandchildren: Brandon, Mitchell and Sebastian Kline, Emily and Kyle Booher and Taylor Wadsworth.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Jay Wadsworth.
Cremation has taken place and family will receive friends at the Edinburg United Church, 4081 Rock Spring Rd., Ravenna, on Saturday, January 5, 2012 from 9:00 AM until the 11:00 AM Memorial Service officiated by Pastor Tim Paroz. Final resting place will be Edinburg Cemetery.
