Betty J. Buchanan Gray
Betty J. Buchanan Gray (88) of Ravenna, passed away at the Woodlands at Robinson, after a long illness with Alzheimer's. She was born in 1924, in Adena, OH, and lived in the Ravenna area since 1941.
She is survived by her loving children, Mary Swain (Robert) Sahli of Edinburg, OH; Jean Swain (Albert) LaPrade of Jefferson, NH; David (Carolyn) Swain of Diamond, OH; and Rebecca Swain (Clyde) Woodruff of Ravenna, OH. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and her brothers, Richard Buchanan of Stow, OH and Wilfred Buchanan of Ormond Beach, FL. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Wayde A. Gray, her daughter, Jane Swain (Roy) Vanpelt, her parents, Wilson and Mary Chloe (Cunningham) Buchanan and three sisters and six brothers.
Betty was a member of the Tuesday Homemakers at Edinburg United Church, Knotty Quilters of Edinburg and Country Piecemaker Quilt Club in Atwater. Her hobbies included flower gardening, sewing and crafting. She loved to spend time visiting with family and friends, and was known to have an infectious giggle.
There will be a private memorial service at the chapel at Edinburg Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest. The family will receive friends at the Edinburg Town Hall between 5:30 and 6:30pm on January 12th.
The entire family would like to thank the staff at the Woodlands at Robinson for the considerate and loving way they cared for Betty.
