Martha Edna Baker, formerly of Ravenna, passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Overlook Nursing Medical Clinic in New Wilmington, PA.
Martha was born in Hays, PA September 9, 1918 to parents Albert and Martha Kreller Coulter. She retired in 1982 from Enduro Rubber as a trimmer. Martha was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary #2164 of the Ravenna Eagles. Music was her life as she was an excellent piano player. She enjoyed playing and performing with her husband William who played guitar alongside her. As a young girl in Pittsburgh she played piano on the radio where people would call in and request songs because she played by ear.
Surviving Martha is her son Benjamin F. (Cindy) Baker. Surviving also are her granddaughters: Clarissa (Tye) Tyson, Marissa (Brian) Shaffer, Julie (Craig) Purnell and Cherie Borden-Lee. She also leaves her seven great-grandchildren.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William W. Baker, her daughter Loretta Gatwood, and her brothers: Albert and Franklin Coulter and sister Rosetta Adamitz.
Graveside services will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery, 6698 N. Chestnut St., Ravenna, Ohio on Monday, January 14, 2013 at 12:00 PM with Pastor David Ballert officiating.
