Sharon D. Cowger, 60 years of age, passed away Thursday January 10, 2013 at Heather Hill in Newbury Township, Ohio. Sharon was born in Elkins, West Virginia on August 19, 1952, the daughter of the late Franklin and Blanche (Hymes) Pingley, Sr.
A resident of Madison, Ohio for over 30 years, she moved to the Windham area in 2010. A graduate of Hiram College, Sharon was employed at the Perry Nuclear Plant as an engineer liaison, retiring in 2004 after 19 years of service. She also owned and operated her ceramics business in Madison for many years. Sharon attended Faith Evangelical Free Church in Garrettsville.
On August 21, 1982, she married Arnie A. Cowger who preceded her in death on September 14, 2010. Also preceding were her siblings Shirley Banicki and Franklin Pingley, Jr.
Survivors include her loving sister Barbara Simmons of Windham, dear brother Charles Pingley of Howland, Ohio, caring nephews and nieces Randy (Monica) Simmons of Streetsboro, Charles (Eileen) Simmons of Windham, David (Chris) Simmons of Edinburg, Vicki (Darrell) Brosius of Hiram, Joy (Steve) Hall of Florida and several great-nephews and great-nieces.
Funeral services for Sharon will be held Tuesday January 15, 2013, 12:00 Noon at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, where visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until service time.
