Mary M. Ford, M.D. age 89, of Aurora, passed away Jan. 24, 2013. Born Nov. 4, 1923 to Alice and Laurel Means of Bushnell, she graduated from Case Western Reserve School of Medicine in 1952. She was one of the founding physicians at the Curtiss Clinic in Chagrin Falls, later Chagrin Valley Medical Center. She practiced Pediatrics for 34 years before her retirement in 1986. Dr. Ford was an avid Bridge player who enjoyed reading, board games and gardening as well as a keen love of nature. In addition, she had a passion for flying, obtaining her pilot's license in 1974.
She is survived by her children: Molly (Den) Catlin, Chris (Tom) Marshall, Rick (Susan) Ford, Kitty (Bill) Buchanan and Russell (Vicki) Ford; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles S. Ford and her granddaughter, Samantha A. Ford. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Hospice of The Western Reserve for their care and support in her final days.
A Celebration of Mary's Life will be held FROM 1-4 P.M. ON FEB. 17 at the Federated Church Family Life Center, 16349 Chillicothe Rd, Chagrin Falls, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Hospice of The Western Reserve.
